We are now seeking an outstanding Programme Manager to lead our Citizens and Science Programme to deliver our existing projects and foster new business opportunities.
A key component of your role will be ensuring Involve delivers strong results in the Sciencewise programme, a multi-stakeholder programme funded by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills to bring the public voice into controversial and complex areas of policy making, particularly those involving science and technology. This is an exciting and crucial year for Involve’s work in Sciencewise, as we seek to extend and develop our training offer, embed this across government, and support policy makers on a journey towards using dialogue tools independently. We’re also developing new and innovative tools for bringing in public voice, to have ever greater impact on policy making.
In addition to managing our engagement on Sciencewise, you will be responsible for developing a wider programme of Citizen and Science related work at Involve, developing complementary projects that build on our existing expertise and experience. There is significant autonomy and scope for carving out new focus areas and shaping the direction of future work. With the support of the management team, trustees and staff, you’ll develop and deliver on a strategy for Involve’s programme in this area.
You’ll be entrepreneurial and pro-active, with a track-record of successful business development and excellent networking, negotiation and relationship building skills. With strong training and capacity building abilities, you’ll have a strong understanding of the policy context of science and technology, the distinctiveness of deliberative methods and where the value add of citizens lies. You’ll bring the imagination, energy and vision to build Involve’s programme of work, with outstanding abilities at bid-writing and a fine eye for business strategy.
