Associate Local Government Advisor
Clive Mitchell is the Local Government Advisor for Involve, and is based in the West Midlands. He has 30 years experience of working in and with local authorities, starting out as an Environmental Health Officer in London. He joined the Audit Commission in 2001, where he was regional lead for the Commission’s work on democratic renewal and public sector partnership working. He is now freelance, and will be supporting and developing Involve’s engagement with the local government sector.
Clive has an MSc in Environmental Management and Health from the University of Surrey. He wrote his Master’s thesis on public participation in local authority decision making, based on original research across English local authorities.
