‘A preliminary assessment of the Obama Administration and Comparison to United Kingdom Actions'

2009 Initiatives for government transparency and citizen involvement.

An interesting session was held on the issues surrounding President Barack Obama announcement of his goal to assertively make federal government actions and information more open to U.S. citizens. His track record is mixed, and illustrates the promises and perils of pledging more transparency. This seminar analysed actions by various parts of the Obama Administration, and tentatively made comparisons to Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his government.
