Resources for Empowerment
-Highlighting what works
The audit The Community Empowerment Division (part of the department of Communities and Local Government) has commissioned Involve to carry out a comprehensive audit of on-line,off-line and face-to-face resources that support community engagement and empowerment, ranging from tool kits and case studies to training and advice providers. There are a wide variety of such resources currently available across a range of policy areas; including health, policing and sustainable development. Getting an overview of these widely dispersed resources is difficult. By gathering the information in one place we hope that the audit will make it easier to find these resources in the future. The audit will gather information on resources that are currently available and will map resource gaps and provide advice to the government about the future provision of resources. The work will also highlight particularly useful ones through a star rating system. How you can help We need the assistance of active citizens, community development workers, facilitators, academics and civil servants in gathering information about resources. This is a real opportunity to promote your favourite resources to a wider audience. You can help in the following ways: Send us information about resources: We would really like to hear about the resources that you know of, the ones you find useful, the ones you think are currently missing and what resource or support providers you consider to be good value. Please email your thoughts and links to any resources that spring to mind to audit@involve.org.uk or complete our downloadable template. Spread the word about the audit: Tell people about this project so that they can in turn contribute their resources. We appreciate your help. For more information about the audit email Ali Howes or call 0207 6320120.
