Involve welcome new associates

Simon Burall is the Director of Involve. He has extensive experience in the fields of democratic reform, governance, public participation, stakeholder engagement, and accountability and transparency.

It’s an exciting week for Involve as we welcome two new associates onto the team. Clive Mitchell and Rosalie Callway will be working on the crucial areas of Local Government and Sustainability, respectively. Our associates are experts in their field, adding significantly to our capacity as well as our depth. On a practical level, they join Involve on relevant projects as well as contributing to our development. You can also expect to see them on our blog over the coming months.

Clive Mitchell is our new Local Government Advisor, is based in the West Midlands. He brings 30 years of experience and insight working in and with local authorities. He also joined the Audit Commission in 2001, where he was regional lead for the Commission’s work on democratic renewal and public sector partnership working. He will be working with Involve on engagement in local democracy and embedding participation at the council level.

Rosalie Callway will be advising us on sustainability and public engagement. She’s particularly interested in the the central role of public engagement in delivering sustainable development, building the evidence base for how engagement can assist changing attitudes and behavior, as well as ways to scale up engagement. Her experience in promoting sustainability spans the last 12 years, working with the Local Government Association, the UN Johannesburg Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002. Rosalie also works as an advisor for the ‘2degrees network’, an online sustainability community, promoting low carbon local authorities and sustainable communities.
