What is the State of Democracy in Northern Ireland?

Civic activism

By Josephine Suherman-Bailey

Josephine is a Policy Analyst at Involve. She supports Involve's work on the UK Open Government Partnership civil society network and Sciencewise. She is especially interested in opening up decision-making to those who might otherwise struggle to be heard by policy-makers.

Involve is facilitating a session at the Imagine Festival in Belfast on Monday 14th March, as part of the Building Change Trust’s Civic Activism series. Imagine is a festival of ideas & politics over 14-20 March. The festival is run by a team of volunteers keen to promote debate on the big issues of our time.

The event will look at how we can achieve a more deliberative democracy for Northern Ireland and how to improve the relationship between civil society and decision-makers.

VENUE: The Duncairn Centre, Duncairn Avenue
