A letter to the new Minister for the Cabinet Office, Ben Gummer

On 10 August the UK Open Government Network (OGN) steering group (which is coordinated by Involve) wrote to Ben Gummer, the new Minister for the Cabinet Office, to welcome him to post and set out how the OGN wishes to work with him to progress the open government agenda in the UK.

The OGN is a coalition of active citizens and civil society organisations committed to making government work better for people through increased transparency, participation and accountability. Over the past five years the network has been working closely with the UK government to help develop and implement ambitious open government reforms.

The OGN steering group hopes the new minister will continue to collaborate with the civil society network to progress open government reform in the UK and internationally. The letter outlines the outstanding proposals from the co-produced Open Government Manifesto which the steering group hopes to work with the government to prioritise, develop and implement
