Participation, cohesion and empowerment - examining what works
In spring 2008, Involve in partnership with the National Empowerment Partnership (NEP) conducted a scoping study exploring how public participation in local government affects the social relationships within the communities in which they take place.
The aim of the study was to pull together an evidence base to underpin practical guidance that will enable those working with community participation to seek the maximum social benefits from their work.
The findings resulted in a report and practical framework which were published in April 2008.
