11.03.2009

On the first of April the new Duty to Inform, Consult and Involve came into force affecting many public bodies across England. At Involve we are keen to support you to meet both new and existing statutory engagement requirements.

Free Master Class

For this reason we hosted a free Master Class session looking at the Duty to Involve, what it means, and how it can be prepared for.

Engagement experts from Communities and Local Government explained the background to the duty and what is expected of you. Justin Vetta (Communities and Local Government) spoke about the key steps that you can take to ensure that you are compliant with the new duties. The seminar also allowed those that attemded to consider their situations and identify individual action steps.

Who was it for?

This event was relevant to staff in local authorities, health trusts and other public bodies who have a practical or strategic responsibility for engagement and involvement. This Master Class was especially important for those currently uncertain about how best to implement Duty to Involve.

Support

In addition to the Master Class we are offering free mentoring sessions to public bodies across England and Wales to help identify key issues around involvement, and help build the best possible involvement strategy. If you would like to register for a session please contact: duty2involve@involve.org.uk

We also offer a suite of Duty to Involve Support Packages, details of which can be found HERE

Further information will be announced at the Master Class. Contact edward@involve.org.uk for more information.
