Public and Patient engagement in health is an area of increasing importance on both sides of the Atlantic. ‘Engaging with impact' was a joint project between Involve and Canadian engagement innovators MASS LBP.

Involve gathered the expertise of practitioners and theorists in the UK on how best to monitor the quality of patient and public engagement, in order to know which practices are commonly used and what their best attributes are.

In spring 2009 the project produced a final report, including several essays on the challenge of evaluating engagement, in addition to a series of indicators that can be used to assess performance and develop a culture of engagement across Ontario's public health system.
