Democracy isn’t working as it should. Decision-makers are struggling to get things done. People are frustrated that the system isn’t working for them. And everyone is feeling divided, distrustful and powerless.

We need to make important choices as a society. If things don’t change, people’s lives will get worse and democracy itself will be under threat.

Over the past year, we've been transforming to demonstrate how things can be different. A new strategy, a new look and now a new website.

Everybody has their own story for why they believe people should be at the heart of decision-making

The new site is packed full of resources on public participation, including:

  • The Knowledge Base - bringing together 15 years worth of experience, guidance and research from our history
  • A new case studies library - where we'll be collecting our favourite examples of public participation from around the world
  • A methods toolbox - with different participatory and deliberative approaches to involving the public

But most importantly, like our mission, our new home puts people at its heart.

Everybody has their own story for why they believe people should be at the heart of decision-making - from the philosophical to the deeply personal, and everything in-between. We're collecting the stories of the people we work with - including members of the public, decision-makers, civil society advocates and academics - as part of our ambition to build a movement for participatory democracy. We invite you to share your story with us as well.

A big thank you to our friends at Effusion for building us such a fantastic new home.

We'll be adding lots of new content to the site in the coming weeks and months, so make sure you're signed up to our newsletter to get the latest straight to your inbox.
