Citizen participation in challenging issues

writing on flipchart

Society is changing faster than ever; decisions made at national or even global level can impact directly on the lives of individual citizens in profound ways. The people taking these decisions are not just politicians; they can be scientists working on the development of a new technology, economists in central banks or consumers on the far side of the planet. This disconnect between decision makers and those affected by decision is one of the most serious problems facing democracy in the 21st century. Involve carries out research and develops new practice exploring how citizens can be engaged in complex technical or political debates which may require action at multiple levels, local, national and international.
