Can a citizens’ jury work for NHS Citizen? We need to test it! | NHS Citizen

NHS Citizen

By Sonia Bussu

Dr Sonia Bussu is a researcher at Involve. She is passionate about increasing citizen voice in public policy (so much so that she did a PhD on the topic) and over the past few years she has been involved in several research projects on citizen participation in policy-making.

And so we are testing it in just a couple of weeks, on 3rd and 4th March. As explained in a previous post on citizens’ juries, we propose using this method to select the agenda for the Assembly Meeting. In the real world, an NHS Citizen jury will likely have to prioritise five out of 10 issues, but for this test our participants will have to choose just one issue out of three presented to them.

Read more on the NHS Citizen project blog. We’ll continue to actively blog about this test over the next few weeks. We hope you’ll continue to comment and share your questions and ideas.

Oldham CCG has already done this with patient-led Juries investigating Fairness and Urgent Care.

    Good luck with it 🙂
