I was in Australia at the end of last month for the Open State Festival. I took part in a number of different events over the course of the two weeks. I’ve already blogged about my contribution to IAP2 Australasia’s Annual Conference here during the first week.
I took part in two different panel discussions focusing on Democratic Innovation during the second week.
The first of these was billed as a face-off between online and offline engagement practitioners. It features a number of experts from around the world including Pia Mancini from Democracy OS, Gerry Stoker from Southampton University, and Shari Davis from the Participatory Budgeting Project in Oakland.
You can watch the discussion below.
Later the same day I took part in a terrifying PechaKucha panel where we all had 20 seconds to speak to 20 slides on the same topic, Democratic Innovation. I focused on fear.
