Involve is working with civil society and government in the UK and internationally to make government more transparent, engaging and accountable.
Open Government Partnership
Since September 2012, Involve has coordinated the UK Open Government Civil Society Network, working on the Open Government Partnership in the UK. The Open Government Partnership was launched in 2011 to provide an international platform for domestic reformers committed to making their governments more open, accountable, and responsive to citizens. Find out more about our work on the Open Government Partnership.
Open policy making
Involve is supporting the development of models of open policy making in government. Since March 2014 we have been working with the Cabinet Office to coordinate an open policy process on the use of data within government. The policy process is supporting civil society organisations, independent experts, and government departments to explore the benefits, risks, limitations and governance for sharing personal data within government. Find out more about our work on the data sharing open policy process.
Involve is building civil society and government’s knowledge of tools and methods for civic activism. Recently, we have worked with the Building Change Trust to to collect examples of tools and methods that can be used by civil society organisations to enable and support civic activism (i.e. involving citizens in decision making processes). Find out more about our work on civic activism.
