Bahar Kaplan

Engagement Lead

Bahar joined Involve as Engagement Lead in 2025 and is based in London. Her experience combines social design, deliberative engagement processes, facilitation and place-based programmes that allow people to shape the decisions affecting their lives.

She previously led the Good Neighbourhood Project in Camden, a neighbourhood initiative centred on fairness, connection and civic participation, where she designed and delivered community-led engagement programmes bringing residents, councillors and partners together in shared learning and decision-making.

Before that, Bahar worked at the Participatory City Foundation, where she co-designed and delivered a borough-scale programme of resident-led initiatives and projects that unlocked neighbourhood creativity and connection.

Bahar holds an MA in Innovation and Service Design from Goldsmiths, University of London, where her dissertation focused on public participation. She is passionate about building inclusive and connected communities and believes that everyday participation is both a right and a transformative force. Outside of work, she loves roaming art galleries, discovering new food spots with friends and travelling to seaside places.
