Dom is an Engagement Lead who joined Involve in 2017 and whose work spans both the Capacity Building and Standards and Innovation and Practice teams.
Dom leads a variety of projects which develop the skills, strategies and frameworks for organisations across government and the third sector to meaningfully engage with and share power with the public. His work has included research into what good practice engagement can look like at a system level for the CQC; developing the Age-Friendly Engagement Toolkit; and delivering training for numerous local authorities; particularly on how to engage residents on climate decision-making.
Alongside this capacity building work, he has also worked with many local authorities in England to run participatory programmes. This includes a range of public panels with Camden Council over many years. He has also run citizens’ assemblies and juries in Southampton, Hounslow and Devon, as well as table facilitating at many different citizens' assemblies including Climate Assembly UK. Outside of government, he has led a number of deliberative panels for District Network Operators to inform their planning of energy, particularly in net zero futures.
Currently, Dom is been working with South Yorkshire Mayoral and Combined Authority to build capacity for engagement and develop a strategy which can guide this. Alongside this he is working on The People's Blueprint in Brighton and Hove, where he is working with residents to build community power to shaper the built environment.
Dom is based in Brighton and when he isn't at work you can find him out running or watching his beloved football team.
