We’re looking for 20 people to help shape the future of Methil and Methilhill by having meaningful conversations with friends & family, neighbours and other residents.
What matters to you? What do you love about your area? What would you like to see change?
What’s involved?
Over 5 events in May & June, two Thursday evenings and three Saturdays, you’ll get together with others from your community to:
- Be part of a group of local residents that come together to learn to host and share creative conversations that will help inform community led plans for the future
- Connect with others and learn skills that you will find useful
- Share what matters most to you and others in your community
What happens with your conversations and ideas?
During the process, the group of 20 local people will come up with a set of recommendations for what you want to see moving forwards in Methil and Methilhill.
These recommendations will shape the work of Methil and Methilhills Local Place Plan, Local Community Plan and feed into Fife’s overall Climate action plan.
This will ensure that organisations across the Fife Council area, including the council itself, focus on what matters most to local people as they work together to prepare for a more sustainable and prosperous towns and local authority.
No experience is needed — just your voice and a willingness to listen and share.
We want to hear from people of all ages and abilities (16+), backgrounds and experiences.
What you’ll get:
- £15 per hour (up to £420 total) as a thank you
- Travel and childcare expenses covered
- A chance to make real change in your community
Session dates (in Methil/Methilhill): You must be able to attend all sessions to take part.
- 29th May evening (6 – 8:30pm)
- 31st May full day (10am - 4pm)
- 19th June evening (6 – 8:30pm)
- 21st June full day (10am - 4pm)
- 28th June full day (10am - 4pm)
Interested?
Fill in the register your interest form by midnight, Sunday 11th May 2025. We’ll contact you by Wednesday 14th May to confirm your place. If we get more that twenty expressions of interest (which we are hoping to do!) we will need to select a group of people from across Methil and Methilhill who reflect the diversity of background and opinion. If you are not selected, we will let you know about the other ways to get involved with the various community plans in future!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, we hope you are interested in taking part!
