Karin joined our Northern Ireland office at Involve as a Senior Project Officer in August 2025. She is involved in designing and delivering a wide range of participatory and deliberative processes with the public, government and civil society in Northern Ireland.
With experience spanning public policy work to community development, Karin has worked across a number of different sectors in Northern Ireland including community relations, gender, rural development, integrated education and community organising responding to climate and environmental stewardship.
Before joining Involve, Karin worked at the NI Children and Young People’s Commission (NICCY) with a focus on safeguarding which included online and digital rights, child sexual exploitation, children’s social care and children and young people seeking international protection as well as working with NICCY’s Youth Panel on developing a programme of work around General Comment 26 – the first authoritative statement by the UN Committee for the Rights of the Child on children’s right to a clean, sustainable and healthy environment.
Outside of work Karin is busy with a community cooperative called the Hare’s Corner Cooperative which offers a platform of support for creators, makers, educators, facilitators and dreamers to learn to do what we love with the care of people and the rest of nature at the heart of our practice. Recent projects have included testing out the value of biomimicry design and practice at a community level and continuing to invest in growing quality participatory budgeting processes.
