Green jobs could be key to a climate friendly future, but what is stopping young people from getting into these careers?
We're working with the New Economics Foundation to bring together 42 young people over 3 workshops to explore what they experience as the barriers to green jobs. This will be a part of NEF's wider work on green jobs and they will use the findings from these workshops as part of their strategy to influence policy. The lived experience of young people is often the missing piece from policy discussions on green jobs. We are going to uncover and explore the barriers which young people face so that these can start to be addressed through policy.
During the workshops young people will learn about some of the key context around opportunities for, and barriers to, jobs and skills including jobs and then have time to discuss their own experiences, as well as learn from others.
